Las Vegas may be known for a lot, but for professionals in the luxury remodeling industry, this year it was also home to one of the most anticipated events of the year—the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS). Our home and kitchen designers, Staci and Tessa, recently traveled from Portland to Las Vegas to attend KBIS, and their trip was nothing short of inspiring.
Their experience offered our team a firsthand look at cutting-edge innovations, emerging design trends, and industry-shaping conversations. From the use of lighting in unexpected places to the addition of bold new colorways for appliances, we walked away with invaluable insights that we can’t wait to implement in our future kitchen and bath designs.
What is trending in kitchen & bath design in 2025?
Here’s a recap of our biggest takeaways from the show and what they mean for the industry moving forward.
1. bold colors are taking over
Gone are the days of crisp white sinks and stainless steel appliances; instead, bold color has taken its place! This year at KBIS, we saw an explosion of vibrant hues entering kitchens and bathrooms. Ample options of yellow sinks, blue refrigerators, and green tubs allow your appliances and fixtures to become the star of the show.
With materials ranging from pigmented concrete to various glazed porcelain options, there are endless ways to incorporate color into your space. An easy way to incorporate this bold color trend is within the powder bath! A statement sink in yellow or blue and a coordinating wallpaper transform an ordinary powder bath into one with a unique personality and style!
2. Texture is everywhere - fluting reigns supreme
Texture has been trending for a while now, but at KBIS 2025, one texture stood above the rest: fluting. It was everywhere—from fluted wall panels to sinks and cabinetry, this refined yet eye-catching detail dominated the showroom floor.
Fluting adds depth and dimension to a space while maintaining a clean and sophisticated aesthetic, making it the perfect choice for those who want to embrace texture without overwhelming their design. If you’re looking for a way to bring visual interest into your home, this is the trend to watch!
3. a lighting renaissance
If you can imagine a place for lighting, chances are it’s already possible! On the showroom floor, we saw lighting integrated into nearly every design element. With subtle ribbon lights tucked beneath railings and cabinets that light up when opened, designers are finding innovative ways to enhance both function and ambiance.
One of the biggest advances is in-laid lighting in showers that’s fully up to code! As technology evolves, lighting strips are becoming slimmer and more versatile, making it easier than ever to incorporate accent lighting in unexpected places. Whether it’s highlighting architectural details or adding a soft glow to high-use areas, this trend is set to redefine the way we design lighting around the home.
4. natural stone IS making a comeback
Natural stone is back and it’s making a big splash in unexpected ways! At KBIS, we saw stunning applications of marble and stone that went beyond traditional countertops. Spotted at the show were rich green natural stone faucet knobs, a stunning full-sized marble tub, and unique, showstopping wall coverings. It’s clear, designers and manufacturers are embracing organic, luxe materials in 2025.
Even classic stone countertops are getting a makeover, with sculpted edges and uniquely shaped backsplashes redefining the classic look. Decadent, luxurious, and inherently unique, natural stone and marble are proving to be a timeless choice with modern applications.
5. unexpected vignettes - creative storage
KBIS proved that no space in a home should go overlooked. Even the smallest areas— like butler’s pantries, laundry rooms, and walk-in closets—can be transformed into functional and stylish rooms that are full of trending designs.
Designers at the showroom showcased how these often underappreciated spaces can be treated like full-sized rooms with the right approach. One standout feature? Panel doors that seamlessly pocket into the wall, creating a sleek and spacious feel without compromising on style. KBIS reinforced that great design isn't limited by square footage—it thrives in the details.
Final notes
As we reflect on our time at KBIS, it’s clear that innovation is at the forefront of kitchen and bath design. From bold colors and unexpected lighting to natural stone and fluted textures, the trends showcased at this year’s event prove that creativity knows no bounds.
Whether it’s maximizing small spaces or redefining traditional materials, these design shifts are shaping the future of home interiors in exciting ways. We’re inspired by the possibilities and can’t wait to incorporate these fresh ideas into our upcoming projects. Stay tuned as we bring these industry-leading trends to life!
